Hey everyone!
I can't believe that we only have two more weeks on the road before heading back to camp and finishing the first half of the year. It's so bittersweet but Christmas break will go by quickly. This week we were in Alto, Michigan and it was only the second time that the church had the team there. I can't even begin to describe what a great week it was. This church had so much enthusiasm and they were so giving and encouraging. There was one elderly man in the congregation (his name is Verl) that came up to me early in the week and said "Are you the one from Wisconsin?" So, obviously, I said "yes!" He then proceeded to show me the "dairy farmers handshake", which basically one person hooks their fingers together with their hands upside down so that your thumbs are pointing at the floor, and then the other person grabs your thumbs as if he's milking a cow! So, needless to say, we greeted eachother that way a couple times. :) Later on in the week Verl came to the church during free time and he played this hawaiian guitar for us and then YODELED. Yeah. He yodeled. He was such a blessing this week and his joy was contagious. The host home I stayed in was only about a mile from the church and so they let us drive the "gator" to church everyday...until the gears broke at least. If you don't know what a gator is...you'll want to look it up! Along with having a sweet ride to church we just happened to live wonderfully close to the pastor's house, so we may or may not have pranked them and the guys staying there, several times...the last involved trick or treating. :) I think that we had more fun planning the pranks than the guys did getting pranked...typical, right? Pastor Bryan used to be a police officer for ten years so when we got to the church he started reading us. He told me that I was one of the few that he couldn't read...all he could tell was that I'm pretty quiet and "studious".  I thought for sure that I was easy to read, but apparently not! :) Some of the other team members were easier to read I guess, he very accurately guessed the personalities of quite a few. Early in the week we got to go to RBC (Radio Bible Class) where they split us into three groups and took us on a tour throughout their entire facility and gave us all free books at the end! Whoever invented the machines that make tons of books was brilliant! I can't even imagine understanding the machines let alone inventing them. After RBC we went to Baker Book House. This place had a huge discounted books section and they also gave us 25% off new and discounted/used books. I was able to find three books that I've wanted to read for a great price: "No Longer a Slumdog" - K.P. Yohannan , "Awake" - Noel Yeatts, and "He Walks Among Us" - Richard and Renee Stearns. I'm so excited to get into them. One of the books we are going through as a team is "Reflecting His Image" by K.P. Yohannan. If you have not read it...READ IT. It is incredible. I'm pretty sure my copy is highlighted cover to cover. Don't read it unless you want to be convicted.  Yesterday the church paid for us to all go to Steak n' Shake, which was delicious and such a blessing. Right now we are on our way to Logansport, Indiana for the next week! Looking forward to another great week! Thanks so much for your prayers and support! If you have any questions at all just comment on my blogs or check out encounterrevival.org! See you all before you know it!

In Christ,
Anna
