Well, Hey Eveyone!
This past week was a such a good week and it's hard to believe it's already over. The host home I was in kept 7 team members! I think it's safe to say that we were never bored. My family came to visit me on Saturday and they stayed overnight at my host home (another 7!!) and left Sunday afternoon. It was such a blessing to see them again. This week was actually pretty hard on quite a few of us. I, personally, was exhausted all week and had a hard time staying enthusiastic... until Thursday night. Thursday night I decided that I was going to do everything I could to get the congregation enthusiastic. So, while we were greeeting people before the service I got super hyped up and it wound up being an incredible night! For the first time I sang with my WHOLE heart and actually realized and thought about the words of the songs we were singing. Halfway through one of the songs I realized that we can do everything possible to try to touch hearts and still fail, but as long as I'm doing my part by singing from my heart and focusing the glory on God, He will do the rest! No, I didn't notice any more response from the people than normal but I had such a peace knowing that God would do the work while all I had to do was make sure my heart was right. I haven't been so filled with joy in such a long time and I'm so excited to experience the same thing all year when I get my heart attitude right. This past week was amazing for raising money in kids and teens. At the beginning of the week we set goals for them to raise by the end of the week. This week the teens: $400, and the kids: $150. The teens raised more that $600 and the kids more than $160!! It was a blessing to see their giving hearts this week. All of the money raised by the kids and teens goes to our Christmas project for orphans in Africa, Myanmar, and India. The money will go to giving kids a proper Christmas celebration. The past weeks have been difficult for me in the area of trusting God for finances for Zambia and the monthly payment for being on the team, but this week I saw God provide so greatly! Quite a few people gave me support that added up to $180! God is so good. I knew that God would provide somehow but it's always hard to be patient and wait. I'm still praying for miracles but I'm so grateful for a glimpse at His sovereignty. This week we were involved with school chapels every morning and afer the chapel service we broke up into groups based on their grade. I was put with one another team member with the 11th grade girls. There were only two of them but it was so neat to get to know them on a deeper level and learn of some ways to pray for them and see them make commitments for Christ. This next week we are going to be in Alto, Michigan and I'm so excited. This church has only had the team there one other year and it was just last year, but Ardy told us that the pastor has basically been emailing him since the team left their church last year and has said how excited the whole church is for us to come again! Enthusiastic churches are such a blessing to us as a team and to Ardy as well. I'm excited to see what is in store this next week!
On a side note...one of the nights this week we sang our African song "Ta Qwa Ba" and each team member brought a child (one brought his host dad!) from the congregation up to the stage to sing along. It was crazy and so so fun. Anways...Thank you all SO much for your prayers and support. I will be home for Christmas soon!
With Love,
Anna
