Hey Everybody!
Another week is already gone and I'm in a new host home already. This past week was a blast! The church that we were at all week was the church of a girl that Alyssa, Chelsea, and I worked operational staff with. We had the priviledge of staying with her and catching up after more than a year apart. The team went to a huge Christian school on Tuesday where we sang in their auditorium. It was strange for me to be in such a big school after being homeschooled for 11 years. It was altogether a blessing though, the kids had a great response and cracked us all up with their applause for every team members introduction. The rest of the week was pretty low-key for us, with more study time and less class time than usual, which was a nice change for all of us. This church specifically always gives the team the entire day off on Friday including the evening rather than having a service. So we got to sleep in and my host family and us three team girls went shopping! Friday afternoon I went to get my hair cut by a woman in the church who owns a salon (I got it chopped!) and when I was getting ready to pay she said "No, no sweetheart. This is my gift to you."
She was such a blessing to me. I have been praying for finances and she probably doesn't even realize the way that God just used her to encourage me. It is such a joy to see God work. To have to relinquish the reigns and let Him lead.
Friday night the church threw a bonfire/bbq party and we ate delicious catered food, some people carved pumpkins, and we all left smelling like a bonfire. My eyes may or may not have let loose a couple times from the smoke. :) After the bonfire we had a couple other team members over to my host family's house where we played apples to apples and ate SO many bags of popcorn. We ended up singing team songs around the table because, well....#encounter.
Basically this week was such an incredible week and I enjoyed myself to the fullest extent! I can already tell that this next week is going to be incredible and this is a church that the team's never even been to before! I can't wait to share at the end of the week! Thank you all for your prayers, love and support. Please continue to pray with me for finances and continued team unity, as well as more energy as we quickly get tired out.
In Christ,
Anna
